Tandem Jumps
Tandem jumping is the easiest way to get an introduction to the sport with
minimal training. It takes approximately 30 minutes to an hour to practice and prepare
for your first jump. On your jump, you will be harnessed to a highly qualified professional
for the entire skydive. You will exit at an altitude of 12,000 feet, followed
by a 40-60 second freefall. At 5,000 feet, your instructor will deploy the
parachute, and you then begin the peaceful 5 to 8 minute parachute decent. You may
assist the instructor with steering and controlling the parachute. It's an experience you will never forget, and just
to make sure you won't, video is available to capture every moment of your
adventure. With your video you can relive the experience over and over, in addition to showing your friends!
Accelerated Freefall Instruction
With AFF (accelerated freefall) training, every jump is a freefall jump, and all are made from at least 12,000 feet. The first three jumps are made with instructors who will accompany hands-on throughout the freefall portion of the skydive, until you open your parachute. You will steer the parachute to the ground and land it by yourself. There are seven skill-levels in the AFF program, and you will have to demonstrate proficiency on each level before you can progress to the next. Using the AFF program there are 6-8 hours of ground school before the first jump. This program will also provide all of the training you will need to become a solo qualified skydiver.
Static Line Skydiving
We do not recommend the static line method of
Skydiving. The simple fact is the sport has evolved to provide students
the ability to learn and progress safer and quicker, using the Accelerated
Freefall method. Dropzones that offer or "steer" you to the static line
method are doing a disservice to the new student. However it may be that they
don't have the qualified instructors to provide AFF. In which case you should
keep shopping for another location.
